What To Expect On Your Appointment Day

Remember, I will not present a drawing of your tattoo that is days ahead of your appointment. I do not draw anything up until a day before or day of the appointment. Sometimes I even draw the design right on the clients skin and there is no way to show them until the drawing is on them. I will have something to show you on the day you are booked if it applies.

Email me immediately if you have to reschedule or cancel your appointment. You do not have to tell me why you are canceling. Canceling within 12 hours of your appointment will result in loosing your down payment. email, NOMADICAL@ICLOUD.COM or call 859-261-8111.

Please know that if you have to reschedule it could be 3 months or more before I can get you in again. I do try my best to get you in as soon as I can but I am in high demand and space is limited. I can put you on a cancellation list but those are far and few between.

I only work at the Mothers Tattoo studio in Covington Kentucky. The address is 645 Main Street, Covington KY 41011. The building is on the corner of Main St. and 7th St. and there is a pay parking lot off of 7th street that is behind and to the left of our building. Most Map apps will direct you to our old building at 617 so please make sure you actually type in 645 Main if you are using a direction guide.

*When you come for your appointment please do not bring anyone with you. Mothers Tattoo forbids having guests accompany clients. We simply do not have the room to have extra people hanging around and it’s very distracting.

*Do not bring your children

*Wear loose fit comfortable clothing that will not hinder me from getting to the area you want tattooed. Wear clothing that you won’t mind getting stained with ink. 90% of my clients will be laying down on a massage table so please dress accordingly.

*Please eat a good fulfilling meal before your appointment. Nobody should get a tattoo on an empty stomach. Bring a drink with you as getting tattooed can cause dry mouth and thirst. It’s also okay to bring snacks or candy.

* Do not take Ibuprofen/Motrin/Advil before getting tattooed because it thins your blood.

*Try not to consume large amounts of alcohol the night before or day of your appointment as it will effect the tattoo. Thin blood is not a good thing to have when getting tattooed.

*If you are pregnant, on blood thinners or use a pacemaker I cannot tattoo you. If you take blood thinners on a regular basis please consult with your physician to see if it’s safe for you to get tattooed.

* Diabetics can get tattoos but sometimes have difficultly healing tattoos. Please check with your doctor for tips on healing your tattoo before you see me if you are concerned.

*Summer appointments need to be extra careful not to get sunburned where they are getting tattooed. I cannot tattoo sunburned skin or skin that is peeling from sunburn and will reschedule you if I see a sunburn.

*If you have a large wound, a rash or bad scratches over the area I’m tattooing I will have to reschedule you until the area heals.

*Covid-19, I am vaccinated but I will sometimes still wear a mask if I am tattooing near your face. I do not require you to wear a mask.

* Please do not get tattooed if you are feeling sick. You need to be healthy because it helps with healing the tattoo.

* If you want to use a lidocaine numbing cream for your session then I highly recommend the brand Zensa which is available on Amazon.com or directly from the Zensa website. I also like Dr. Numb in the red tube and this is also available on Amazon.com. Please never ever use the brand Hush to numb your tattoo because it’s been very frustrating for me to work with in the past. 5% lidocaine cream is all you will need to feel numb. All creams must be applied at least an hour to two hours before your appointment. You will need to wrap the area in plastic wrap like Cling wrap and get it as air tight as you can. I will remove the plastic wrap when I am ready to tattoo you.

Getting a tattoo can be a boring process but I do enjoy talking and I do not mind if you want to wear earbuds and listen to audio books, podcasts or music. It is really hard to scroll on your phone when you are laying down getting tattooed. Many times I need your arms positioned and still which makes holding the phone impossible. Clients are always loosing their grip on their phone which causes abrupt movement and the phone falling on a very hard tiled floor.

Tipping is acceptable and appreciated, but not required. If you want to leave a tip but are unsure of how much to give most clients tip between 5% and 25%.

Please feel free to email me if you have any further questions.
